If Scottie Pippen were not traded by the sonics to the bulls on draft day....?

or eventually chicago will pursue to trade JORDAN for SCOTTIE PIPPEN because pippen will definitely excel with KEMP-PIPPEN-PAYTON running the offense and kickin a s s opponents with defense?

i dunno why everyone thinks pippen wouldve been a bust with out MJ. pippen was decent and was very lucky to have MJ by his side, he had learned alot from him. but with pippen in seattle with kemp and payton, i believe they wouldve been a contender if not champs in the west.

MJ is one of 4 players in NBA history that was COMPLETELY UNTRADABLE! Magic, Bird, and Russ are the others. With that said, the Sonics would have been a force to be reckoned with. Imagine Pip in is prime guarding MJ in his prime in the Finals! GP would've been good defensive help and Kemp would be pinning anybody who got past Pip and GP's shot to the backboard!

The 3 probably would've ended up together, too! Even with Pip, the Sonics would've probably ended up with a high enough pick to get GP, and they took a gamble on Kemp, so they probably would've gotten him no matter what the 1st round pick was in that Draft. That would have been amazing!

The only question is, would little-known (at the time) Pip have been as good without the benefit of playing alongside MJ?
I've thought about it and I think that scenerio would have about .00000 0 ounce of chance of being played out.

First of all, no one in their right mind would trade Jordan for Pippen. No one in their right mind would trade Jordan for anyone! Secondly, Jordan was in the league for three years before Pippen was even drafted. Jordan's rookie year, rookie year, I repeat, he averaged 28.2 ppg 6.5rpg 6apg 2.5spg and shot at 51.5%. These numbers are better than the bloke who's going to win the MVP this year. His second year was shortened by injuries, he only played 18 games. His third year, he averaged 37ppg 5rpg 4.6apg 3spg. Pippen was drafted the following year.

Now who in their right state of mind would trade that for a 5th pick in the draft??????? No one has seen those types of numbers since Wilt Chamberlain's days. Nor have we seen it since Jordan's days.

I don't think Pippen would have had such a great career without Jordan. He would have struggled just for playing time in Seattle because they also drafted Derrick Mckie at 9th that same year. Do you realize what an asset it is to be playing with the greatest competitor, player in the history of the game? Just look at how Boston is doing now with a great competitor in Garnett. The whole team plays better all of a sudden, and it's not because they also have Ray Allen. Great competitive players bring the best out of their teammates and I truly believe Pippen was made great by playing alongside the greatest ever.
That is very interesting... That whole era of the NBA would've been different. The Bulls may not have won any or as many Championships as they did because Pip was such a big part of their success... Kemp or Payton may never have been on The Sonics because Pippen would have excelled regardless and eventually lifted them to where they may not have picked either player...

And if they did I think they definetly would've been a more dominate team with Pip at the helm.... And it would've made the Sonics / Bulls finals much more exciting...
Pippen was drafted in 87' Payton in 89' Kemp in 90'....I don't think they would have drafted Payton and Kemp if they had Pippen think about it. I don't think Pippen would have been a bust but he would't be as good. Jordan helped his game out a lot.
the bulls would never ever ever EVER trade michael jordan for scottie pippen. besides when Jordan left scottie pippen could not even get them into the tournament.
The Bulls would of won 9 titles instead of 6. Pippen is the reason why the Bulls lost 3 straight time against The Pistons.
I think Jordan would have still won at least 3 titles. And no they would not have traded Jordan for Pippen.
