yeah im thinkin we go with a 4 on 5 offense deal thing. shaq can just play defense and get rebounds, because there is no way he will be able to keep up with our fast paced offense.

Shaq will be able to keep up with their offense and Phoenix will be in the finals.
the suns for the past few years have never gotten to the western conference finals because teams like san antonio beat them. getting shaq allows phoenix to match up better against them. against good teams with good big men like utah, houston, LA, etc....shaq wont slow down their pace because they dont need shaq to run a fast break. they dont need shaq to shoot a bunch of jumpers within 10 seconds. when you get to the playoffs points become harder to score. a fast paced team has never really succeeded. getting shaq will help them when they have to slow down or when other teams force them to slow down.
plus having shaq and amare at the same time makes it very hard for the opposition to get rebounds and easy layups. and it makes amare much less foul prone.
the suns got shaq for the playoffs, not the regular season. they wont even need shaq until the playoffs, so theyll play him less and ask him to ice everything, rehab, get fit, and get ready for the playoffs. the suns are an old team. all their main guys except barbosa and amare are in their 30s. if the suns dont win a ring now, they wont win one for a long time. thats why they got shaq, for the playoffs and to deal with teams with big men.
shaq isnt stupid he knows he aint the same, thats why he wont care if he gets a bunch of touches as long as he wins. winning cures everything. he has already told nash, that he wont let him down. shaq at this point wont be selfish and will be a team player especially since he is now on a winning team.
besides marion is a free agent and would have left anyway. so might as well get something for him.

I think this is in preparation for the playoffs, where opposing teams force the Suns to slow down the tempo. Shaq can still score down low, occasionally draw double teams and kick the ball out to the perimeter. And people seem to have forgotten that he can still throw those overhead, end-to-end outlet passes on the break. On defense, I think he's just supposed to hold his ground until the help defense arrives.
no they won't switch up the offense. Yes, Shaq will get heart attack if he tries to run with the Suns. He might not get his heart attack now, but he will 5 years after at most
he won't be able to keep up with there offense. i'm not sure what their plans are. maybe they are going to start focusing on defense because if they don't shaq's career will end sooner because he will be running too much

To me it seems like the GM and Coach have given up on their Run-N-Gun style, you can't expect Shaq to run up and down the field anymore, Shaq retire 2 years ago, he is fat, lazy, and injury-prone... It makes no sense what so ever. The only thing I can come up with, the Suns save 1 million dollars by doing this trade, I doubt they keep Shaq in the long run plus Shawn Marion didn't want to be a Sun anymore and this is a good way of getting rid of him.

The suns will get the championship this year as long as lebron and his cavs dont shut em out and garnett and his newly stacked team the Celtics dont monster slaughter them.
